NotesAlong time coming for the Rockets was a game against Simcoe... As we have not played them since beginning of the season.
As the 1st period came to a close the score was tied up 1-1 and the kids were playing well, and were feeling out the competition.
Shortly into the 2nd period Aidan broke away in the neutral zone and weaved his way around 2 Simcoe defenders to put in his 2nd of the game. Next shift Brady, Austin and Tristen put the pressure on, with Ethan and Dom holding the puck in at the blue line several times. Dom fired a shot on net, rebound went to the corner where Austin picked it up, and made a perfect pass to Tristen sitting in the slot to put home the 3rd goal of the game. Zack played real well shutting down a few break aways from the Warriors to keep the game close.
Third period started of with lots of back and forth play, and Simcoe putting in another goal, making it 3-2 with 6 minutes left in the third. Aidan managed to pop in his 3rd goal of the game off a nice pass from Willy, Owen and Brenden putting the Rockets up 4-2 with minutes left in the game.
Well the Simcoe Warriors would not be done yet, as Briars line won the draw in our end, and skated the puck down the ice to the Warriors end with couple nice shots. Simcoe managed to get it out of the zone to a floating Warrior in the neutral zone and he picked it up and made a nice move on Zack to get the game close with less than 2 minutes to play.
The Rockets dug deep, and put on the defensive play to keep the puck away from Simcoe, and pull off the win 4-3. Great game Rockets! Congrats on the hat trick Aidan!
