Zack had another strong game, stopping lots of shots and a couple breakaways to keep the game 0-0 though 1 and half periods. Dom opened up the scoring, as he saw an open lane to the net from the point. After going around one defender and a nice hard wrist shot over the Ingersoll net minders glove in the top corner. Nice shot! Dom scores!
Then Ingersoll fired into the next gear scoring a couple goals to get out of the 2nd period with the lead.
The Lil Devils were not going to give up with lots of chances, but could not get one past the goalie. Then the Express went up by another goal half way through the 3rd - leading the game 3-1.
With time winding down on the clock, and several chances to get another goal - we broke away from our end with a pass up to Aidan for a clear break away... he shots and scores - Nice goal! The rockets are back in it.. Pressure was on, as time was winding down - Brady, Austin and Callum had a couple chances... Briar had a break with Landon following... Tristen managed to have a couple breaks with the Ingersoll Goalie stopping them all. Then with a nice pass out of the zone Aidan picked up the puck and skated to the Ingersoll end... then the Ingersoll defender threw his stick as Aidan was just about to shoot the puck... and the refs blew the whistle and pointed to centre ice for a Penalty Shot....
Aidan came to the bench and calmed his nerves, and went out for the penalty shot - as he zoned in on the goalie he fired off a nice wrist shot, top corner over the goalies glove... and the Rockets tied it up with minutes left in the game. Another... Nice Goal Aidan...!
The rest of the game was back and forth, with the game ending in a tie... Excellent Effort Rockets!.... rematch tomorrow morning... be ready!
