Melsey led the defensive lines well through the whole tournament, and fittingly even after a barrage of knocks and fowls held calm and waited for the opportunity to strike back in true Peewee rocket fashion - 'hit them hard by putting the puck in the net !' #9 Melsey broke out of his own end at a blistering pace, flanked the side of the ice and drew 2 defenders in towards him, and then made a perfect pass to the front of the net for #15 Zulu merely to pop it in, the OT winner .... and the crowds went wild...
An awesome weekend of hockey, and although winners of the championship, coaches are extremely proud of the way the boys played and displayed above all, character, determination and class. A special shout out to all families and friends that came to support the team ... it was well worth the effort and commitment. These boys are developing into a class act and have been a pleasant surprise to everyone playing them.
