Novices finish 2nd in St. George
Our Novice Rep club participated in Jack Tolhurst Memorial Tournament in St. George this past weekend and came home with a 2nd place finish. After opening the tourney with a 7-1 win over West Lincoln, the team lost to Aylmer in there 2nd game 7-1. Needing a victory in game 3 to give themselves a chance to make the semi finals, the boys put in an excellent effort earning a 7-0 victory over Ripley.
Getting the help they needed our club secured a spot in the semi finals against an undefeated Ancaster team. Leading for most of the game 1-0, Ancaster tied the game with a late goal sending it to overtime. During the elimination overtime the teams went down to 2 on 2 where our boys were able to find the back of the net for 2-1 victory. In the finals the rockets had a rematch with the Aylmer Flames. Aylmer came out strong and quick which carried them to the championship. Even though it wasn't the ultimate result we were looking for, it was still a great showing and the team should be proud!!!
