The OMHA Executive have introduced a two year pilot project eliminating body checking in local league recreational hockey. At the OMHA Board of Directors meeting of February 22, 2015, a motion was approved that effective the 2015 -2016 season, Body Checking will be removed from all OMHA recreational programming.

The OMHA identified a recurring theme which has been communicated at virtually every Committee meeting during the season has been the message of 'Respect in Hockey' and opportunities to enhance education and awareness of the message with all stakeholders, to improve the Minor Hockey experience. Therefore at the OMHA AGM it was passed to fully integrate all available 'Respect' education to all OMHA stakeholders, including Team Officials, On-ice Volunteers, On-Ice Officials and Parents

Our Novice Rep team almost pulled out a win against a very strong Twin Centres team. The TC Stars went up 3-0 only to find our Rockets battle back to tie the game. A late 3rd period goal edged the TC Stars to 4-3 and they held off a late game charge.
The Coaches said they couldn't have been more proud of how their team stayed strong right to the end!
